El Oso Grande Park Cleanup – Saturday, April 25, 9:00 – 12:00
OGNA is planning to join the City’s Solid Waste Management Department and Keep Albuquerque Beautiful for “One Albuquerque Cleanup Days”. We have registered to clean up our neighborhood, park, and other areas that need it in honor of Earth Day! With your help we can all work together to keep our neighborhood clean and beautiful.
So please join us on Saturday April 25th 2026 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
We will meet in the park by the picnic tables in the playground area. The City will provide us with gloves & trashbags. The OGNA Board will provide refreshments.
Oso Grande Pollinator Habitat Updates
Our garden has a wonderful new sign courtesy of The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation https://www.xerces.org/ . The sign provides colorful and informative details on the importance of pollinator gardens to our local habitat.
Come see the beautiful blooms and stroll around in our Pollinator Garden.

El Oso Grande Park Upgrades
Our new covered picnic table and water fountain were installed near the Children’s Play Area. We are so proud of our tables which will provide a nice place for families to have lunch and watch their children play! Our new water fountain will also be great to have — especially during the hot summer months. Many Thanks to State Representative Marian Matthews and City Councilor Champine for these wonderful park improvements.
Two New Accessible Parking Area(s) on Osuna Road (North side of Park)
Thanks to our District 8 Councilman Champine and Aziza Chavez the CIP Project Coordinator for the Albuquerque City Council, the El Oso Grande Park now has two (2) accessible/handicapped parking spaces for easy access to the park. The parking spaces which were completed in March 2025, have ADA compliant curb cuts and ramps and are clearly marked with blue paint. The 2 spaces are located on the North side of the park along Osuna Blvd.
Our El Oso Grande Park is beautiful anytime of the year… summer, winter, fall and spring.
The Oso Grande Neighborhood Association (OGNA) takes great pride in ensuring that the grass stays green and the new trees in the perimeter are thriving at El Oso Grande Park. Occasionally there have been some issues with Park maintenance but due to OGNA advocacy and the great response of the City Parks and Recreation Department the issues are quickly addressed.
